What makes Aspen a great choice for your family?

According to MN Compass Education, less than 50% of Minnesota’s third graders are currently proficient in reading. Only two out of every five students in 8th grade are proficient in math. The International Dyslexia Association estimates that up to one in five people world-wide may be dyslexic. Literacy support for struggling learners is most often given by pulling students out of their classrooms or through private tutoring outside of the school day, which is not feasible for many families. Research also shows a discrepancy in student scores based on racial and socioeconomic factors.

At Aspen Montessori School, we believe explicit, science-based reading instruction and hands-on math opportunities should be accessible to all students and should be provided as part of their core school experience.

Our program is highly individualized. Our guides create learning plans for every child, ensuring that areas of need are addressed. This is beneficial for all students, especially those with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia

Our program is intentionally small so we can provide the kind of one-to-one attention diverse learners need to thrive.

We provide hands-on learning activities, extra time outside, and incorporate art, music and movement into our daily routines.

We value the home-school relationship and work in partnership with caregivers and community members.
